Farmingdale High School is proud to announce the students who have been selected by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) to participate in All-State and All-National performing groups. Eight outstanding student musicians were selected for All-State honors along with two alternates. Two of Farmingdale’s elite musicians were chosen as alternates for All-National Ensembles. Special congratulations to Cooper Malanowski who was selected for both All-State Jazz and All-State Wind Ensemble and Joseph Connors who was selected for both All-State Symphony Orchestra and as an alternate with the All-State Symphonic Band.

“The Farmingdale School District is most proud of our All State and All National musicians and alternates. The competition is very rigorous because students from every county across New York State compete against each other for All State and students from every state of the United States compete for All National,” commented Mr. Greg Warnokowski, Director of Fine Arts. “Only the most talented and accomplished performers are chosen, which is why our music department is so proud of these high achieving Dalers!”
Farmingdale teachers who sponsored the musical efforts include Ms. Therese Mannino, Orchestra Director, Ms. Jessica Mischke, Chorus Director, and Ms. Gina Pellettiere, Wind Ensemble Director. Along with proud high school music staff members: Mr. Matthew DeMasi, Mr. Joseph Franzino, Mr. Ed Kozlowski, and Ms. Barbara Lieberman.
The New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) is the New York affiliate of the National Association for Music Education. NYSSMA is a professional organization that evaluates student musicians in New York state from elementary school to high school. Each spring, thousands of students register through their school music programs to attend NYSSMA Evaluation Festivals where they are adjudicated.
