Music Teacher Strikes a Chord with Students.
On October 23rd, Howitt Middle School music teacher, Mr. Samuel Gelfer was invited by the ASTA chapter (American String Teacher's Association) at Hofstra university to speak to current music education majors. Mr. Gelfer reflected on his experience in Farmingdale teaching at every grade level, highlighting the differences and similarities between them. He also shared his experience as a published composer and how that continues to shape his teaching.
