On December 16, 2023, Farmingdale High School had 135 business students participate in the Nassau County DECA Regional Competition. The event occurred at Plainview-Old Bethpage High School and involved students receiving a case study in their respective business categories. They were given only 10 to 15 minutes to prepare their presentation, followed by a brief 10-minute period to present their ideas to the judges.
Jaclyn Tannazzo, the business teacher and DECA Advisor at Farmingdale High School, greatly admired the students' professionalism and school spirit. She was also excited by the record turnout, which was three times more than in previous years.
We are thrilled to announce that 45 of our students qualified for the New York State competition, which will take place in Rochester in March. Congratulations to the students and their teachers at Farmingdale High School for their outstanding performance in the Nassau County DECA Regional Competition.
