On January 12, 2024, thirteen talented Farmingdale horn players joined peers across Long Island at Northport High School for SCMEA's annual "Day Of Horn." The day-long event included master classes led by professional horn players, giving students of all grades the chance to learn and perform alongside their peers. The event's highlight was Dr. James Hampson's captivating presentation on the horn's historical development, which featured various instrument demonstrations. The Northport Horn Club, The Suffolk Horn Club, and a grand finale performance of all who attended as a massed-horn ensemble with over 100 players also performed.
