The fall semester of Farmingdale High School’s Adult and Continuing Community Education Program kicked off on September 29 and continues to draw strong interest from the community. This season, more than 650 participants have enrolled in over 73 diverse classes and programs.
Laura Proppe instructs a very popular adult education class, Body & Brain Gentle Yoga and Meditation. Laura has been teaching for eight years now, and it has brought her great purpose and worth to her own life with every class she teaches. She has been teaching at Farmingdale’s Adult Education for the past two semesters. Her class is a popular choice in the community, with over 50 registered for the class.
“It was my own healing journey that inspired me to become a Body & Brain Yoga instructor ten years ago,” said Laura Proppe. “After a two-year steady decline in my health, B&B classes, along with the study of B&B practices and principles, facilitated my health recovery. It only seemed right that sharing what I had learned toward helping others improve or maintain their health and well-being was the right thing to do, a kind of pay-it-forward.”
Adult Education also provides community members and local businesses the opportunity to share their expertise with others, offering a wide range of courses in areas such as Finance and Career Development, Arts and Crafts, Dance and Music, Performing Arts, Fitness and Recreation, Health and Wellness, and more.
