On Sunday, December 12th, thirteen Dalers participated in the 48th annual Tuba Christmas under Manhattan's beautiful Rockefeller Christmas tree. Tuba Christmas was conceived in 1974 by Harvey Phillips as a tribute to his teacher and mentor William J. Bell, born on Christmas Day in 1902. Following a short rehearsal, musicians took the festive baritones, sousaphones, euphoniums, and tubas to serenade an audience of thousands surrounding Rockefeller Center. Earl Jones, a 7th grader at Howitt Middle School, was the youngest participant out of 200 players! Fine Arts Director Greg Warnokowski and Howitt music teachers Erica Hartmann, David Abrams, and ToniAnn Taibi performed alongside students. Our very own Superintendent, Paul Defendini, participated as well. The following students participated from Howitt Middle School; Jackson Defendini and Earl Jones. From Farmingdale High School; Luke Ferraiolo, Ashton Jonak, Charlotte Rutkowski, Carly Paine, and Kevin Piraino.
