Superintendent Paul Defendini and Patrick Klocek, Principal of Woodward Parkway, met with student council representatives from the elementary school to discuss ideas for improving school facilities in the future. Over pizza, Mr. Defendini explained that our schools need new roofs and electrical upgrades to support all of the devices being used for educational purposes.

Along with advisors Mrs. Gerberg and Mrs. Ozkumru, students shared their views and expressed their desire to expand the flexible seating pilot. Solar power, air conditioning, safety, options for recycling, bathroom renovations, and the need for new playground equipment were among the other items the students brought forward.

"We are grateful that Mr. Defendini took time out of his day to meet with our kids and gain their perspectives,” said Principal Klocek. We are proud of the mature and thoughtful ways they communicated their ideas. Many of the students shared how this meeting made them feel that they really have a voice and that their opinions matter."
