IN-PERSON TOWN HALL REGARDING UPK PROGRAM JUNE 18TH @ 3 PM IN HOWITT BOARD ROOM (in Howitt East Building)

Recently, we announced that the Farmingdale School District will be able to add another full-day UPK class in the fall of 2024. This is a result of our district receiving additional UPK funding from New York State. We have scheduled a Town Hall for June 18th at 3 PM to answer any questions you have about the program. This meeting will be recorded for those of you who are not able to attend in person.

Please review the information below and use this link to the form UPK Town Hall Questions to share any questions you may have about the UPK Program with us. We will incorporate your feedback into the Town Hall presentation.

In 2023-2024, Farmingdale had three full-day classes and seven half-day classes. Next year 2024-2025, we will have seven full-day classes and two half-day classes.

At this time, the addition is only for one full-day class due to space limitations within the Farmingdale School District as the UPK classes are currently housed in district elementary schools and space is limited.

The UPK Office has contacted those families whose children were chosen for the full-day waitlist during the lottery held on 3/19/24 for placement in the additional full-day class.

As previously mentioned, our UPK programs (full and half-day) follow all New York State regulations which include the lottery process along with New York State physical and immunization requirements.

As a district, we will continue to research other creative solutions to offer these services to our families in the future.
