COMMUNITY IMPACT DAY

COMMUNITY IMPACT DAY thumbnail223639

Farmingdale elementary students attending the summer literacy programs hosted at Saltzman East Memorial and Woodward Parkway Elementary Schools were visited by KPMG volunteers on August 2, 2022, in celebration of Community Impact Day.

Students participating in the program received a “healthy kit” that included two books, a jump rope, healthy snacks, school supplies, and a bag. Volunteers also helped students create Kindness Stones to decorate the school’s gardens.

KPMG is marking its 125th Anniversary this year. KPMG has been an incredible corporate champion, that has worked with Farmingdale Schools on numerous projects throughout the year. Congrats KPMG on a historic milestone and thank you for your dedication to supporting Farmingdale’s mission!

Administrators plan to continue the popular summer literacy program next year. Evidence proves that students who find a way to maintain their reading skills over the summer are better prepared for a successful academic year.
