FHS Boys Track and Field Team Wins Class A Nassau County Championship

On February 4, 2020, at St. Anthony’s High School, the Farmingdale High School boys track and field team captured the Class A Nassau County Championship Title. 

Many personal bests were achieved at the meet, securing three spots in the upcoming state competition. Anthony Diaz won the 3,200 meters at nine-minutes, 36.61 seconds; Andre Leslie won the 55 in 6.45 seconds; and Amir Cambridge won the 55 hurdles in 7.98 seconds. The New York State Championship is scheduled for March 7, 2020 on Staten Island.

“It was a tremendous team effort by all of our athletes and a coach’s dream to see the team achieve its ultimate goal and win a championship,” said head coach Walter Henning. “This marks the fifth county championship in school history! We were predicted to score 59 points, and through outstanding efforts, dedication, and teamwork, we scored 81 points to capture the Class A Nassau County Championship.”
