The Sound of Perfection and the Spirit of a Champion

A single high note from a violin and the rhythmic snap of a championship routine defined the atmosphere at the Farmingdale School District Celebrating Excellence event on April 15, 2025. The evening served as a powerful tribute to the students and staff who define the district’s commitment to high achievement.

Musical and Academic Milestones

The district recognized dozens of student musicians who earned perfect scores from the New York State School Music Association. These performers from Albany Avenue Elementary School, Woodward Parkway Elementary School, Saltzman East Memorial Elementary School, Northside Elementary School, Weldon E. Howitt Middle School, and Farmingdale High School demonstrated the discipline required to master their craft. Similarly, the Farmingdale High School DECA chapter saw nine students earn state-level honors, with two students advancing to represent the district at the international level.

Athletic Excellence and Leadership

The winter season brought historic success to the athletic department. Every winter team earned Scholar-Athlete Team status, proving that Daler success happens in the classroom and on the field. The Farmingdale High School Varsity Cheer team was honored for their New York State Championship victory, while the Boys Basketball team celebrated a Co-Conference Championship. The evening also highlighted the 20-year legacy of Coach Jim Pastier and the decades of mentorship provided by Paul Solenick.

Impactful Educators

The community celebrated Assistant Principal Kenneth McCloud, who received the New York State Senate Educator Award. His "open-door" philosophy at Weldon E. Howitt Middle School exemplifies the inclusive leadership that supports the district’s mission.

A Creative Finale

The Farmingdale Playcrafters concluded the night with a medley from their sold-out production of Tuck Everlasting. The performance underscored the vibrant arts culture that continues to thrive across all school buildings. As these students look toward future competitions and performances, they carry with them the pride of a community that values every milestone.
