Farmingdale School District’s Director of Fine Arts Rose Marvel is proud to announce that fifteen student musicians have received All-State acceptances and/or have been named as alternates for the upcoming 84th Annual New York State School Music Association’s (NYSSMA) All-State Winter Conference, to be held December 5-8, 2019 in Rochester, NY.

Thousands of students auditioned for this honor last spring at solo and ensemble festivals throughout the state; Farmingdale students will perform in the Symphony Orchestra, Treble Chorus, and Mixed Chorus.

“We are thrilled with the number of Farmingdale students to be recognized this year,” said Ms. Marvel. “Kudos to our students and our outstanding music teachers for this wonderful accomplishment.”

Congratulations to Farmingdale High School’s 2019 NYSSMA All-State Musicians: Tyler Abramowitz, Kaitlyn Corrigan, Jonathan Doty, Dylan Maebert, Anthony Raffaele, Andrew Williams, Cooper Malanowski, and Gabriella Sferlazza.

The students named as alternates are: Antonio Castano, Abigail Faber, Aidan Kelly, Cooper Malanowski, Alicia Nguyen, Daniel Powers, Alexa Schwartz, Aiden Timko.

The mission of the NYSSMA is to advance music education across New York State for its membership and students in member school programs.
