A Legacy Etched in Green and White

Farmingdale High School officially designated its athletic field as Buddy Krumenacker Field at Don Snyder Stadium on October 16, 2026, following the final home game of the regular season. The district honored Head Coach Buddy Krumenacker for his 34 seasons leading the Dalers Football Team and 58 total years of coaching on Long Island, celebrating his extraordinary leadership and dedication to generations of student-athletes.
Krumenacker assumed leadership of the program in 1993, accumulating 241 victories at Farmingdale High School, nine Nassau Conference I titles, three Rutgers Cups, and two Long Island Championships. During the ceremony, surrounded by family, friends, current and former coaches, and alumni athletes, the district presented him with jersey number 40 and a custom sign featuring his core mantra, "Measure twice, cut once," which will be permanently displayed at Farmingdale High School.
"Under his whistle, you did not just learn how to win football games; you learned class, toughness, and how to become a better man," said Superintendent Paul Defendini, who played under Krumenacker during the 1990s.
Addressing the crowd after receiving the honors, Krumenacker reflected on his historic coaching tenure. "I was incredibly fortunate to spend my life doing exactly what I loved, especially getting to return and coach in the very place where I once played," Krumenacker said.
The district will hold a formal field-unveiling ceremony during the 2026-2027 school year to commemorate his legacy with the entire community.
