Exciting developments are taking root at Woodward Parkway Elementary School with the official launch of the Little Harvest Club, a new program designed specifically for first- and second-graders. Led by Ms. Chimenti and Ms. Breuer, this hands-on initiative introduces the school’s youngest learners to the fundamentals of plant care, nurturing an early curiosity for nature and sustainable growth.

Student response to the new club has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic, with 39 children already enrolled. To manage the high demand and accommodate overflow, the school added Thursday sessions to ensure every interested child receives a direct, interactive experience. Parents have welcomed the addition with open arms, expressing deep gratitude for a program tailored specifically to younger elementary students.

Adding to the club’s community-driven spirit, former garden club students from Howitt Middle School have stepped in as "big kid helpers." These older student mentors return to Woodward Parkway to guide, encourage, and work alongside the first- and second-graders during their activities.

The agricultural enthusiasm at Woodward Parkway will continue to grow throughout the school year: while the Little Harvest Club gets its hands dirty this season, the Hydroponics Garden Club for students in grades 3–5 is set to officially resume this February.
