Echoing through the morning mist at Pennsylvania’s Pine Forest Camp, a unified brass fanfare signaled the start of practice as student musicians raised their instruments with perfect alignment. From September 17–20, members of the Farmingdale High School Marching Band, the Dalerettes, and the Daler Guard gathered for an intensive overnight Band Camp designed to refine technical precision, enhance musical execution, and elevate camaraderie for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Over three demanding days of rigorous practice before departing, student performers challenged their creative limits, transforming distinct individual melodies into a single, resounding ensemble sound.

“Band Camp is where everything comes together,” said Director of Fine and Performing Arts Greg Warnokowski. “It is not just about learning music and choreography—it is about building confidence, developing leadership, and creating a family atmosphere that supports every student.”

Beyond mastering drill synchronization, music refinement, and choreography, the retreat allowed performers to forge lasting friendships, build confidence, and ignite school spirit. The rigorous schedule challenged students to refine their technique while building a supportive culture that sets the tone for upcoming performances.

The Farmingdale High School Marching Band will next take the field alongside the Varsity Cheerleading Squad and JV Cheerleading Squad during the Homecoming Football game against Freeport High School on Friday, October 9, at 6:30 p.m. Additionally, the district wants to remind community members about the performance at the annual Newsday Marching Band Festival at Mitchel Field Athletic Complex on Thursday, October 22.
