We acknowledge that there are certain basic principles that shall guide the Board of Education in its actions and activities on behalf of our students and our community. The mission of the Farmingdale School District is to educate our students to become independent thinkers and problem solvers. It is our goal to empower each student to meet the challenges of tomorrow's emerging world. The District will provide a safe, nurturing environment in which individual and civic responsibility is fostered, diversity is respected, and all students are enabled to realize their full potential. To that end, we will:

HOWITT HAPPENINGS
Creating a digital story allows students to present information in a way that combines traditional writing practices with images, color, sound and movement to tell a story that is visually and emotionally appealing as well as informative. The following stories were compiled by Ms. McGill’s 7th grade students who are part of Howitt Middle School’s Horizon’s Program. Students read memoirs in a book-club, researched the social, cultural, and institutional forces that influenced the authors’ lives, and worked collaboratively to create digital stories highlighting some of those influences. We hope you enjoy watching them as much as we enjoyed creating them.Be patient, the program might take a minute to load. Please enjoy
